This round St. Benedict medal is made of aluminum and very lightweight. The medal measures approximately
Size: 7/8 inch.
If you have a devotion to St. Benedict, or if you're seeking his patronage, this medal is a perfect gift for any man or woman. St. Benedict is a patron saint of dying and a happy death, and holds many miracles and exercises great power over the spirits of darkness. Surrounding his image are the Latin words for "May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death." It can be worn around the neck (search for "chains" if you'd like to wear it), attached to your scapular or the Rosary, and/or carried with you for your protection.
The reverse of the Medal shows the image of the Cross. Around the margin are the initials of Latin words which form verses supposed to have originated with the holy Father Benedict himself. The English translation is: "Be gone Satan! Suggest not to me thy vain things. The cup thou profferest me is evil; drink thou thy poison." In the angles formed by the arms of the Cross are the letters C.S.P.B., signifying "Cross of the holy Father Benedict." The letters on the Cross itself have this meaning: "May the holy Cross be my light; let not the dragon be my guide."
